1. Stimulants in pre-workouts and fat burners

Is caffeine banned? No — caffeine isn't a prohibited substance, though WADA keeps an eye on it. Just don't confuse it with the other stimulants often stacked into the same pre-workout formula.
What about synephrine? Regular synephrine and methylsynephrine are not the same thing. Synephrine on its own isn't banned. Methylsynephrine — also called oxilofrine — is banned in competition.
2. SARMs, steroids and anabolic prohormones

The most recognisable examples include ostarine (enobosarm), ligandrol (LGD-4033), RAD140 (testolone), andarine, S-23, YK-11, DHEA (prasterone), androstenedione, androstenediol, epiandrosterone, epistane, methasterone, nandrolone, stanozolol, oxandrolone, trenbolone, and testosterone and its esters.
SARMs are sometimes marketed as safer or milder alternatives to anabolic steroids. From an anti-doping perspective, however, SARMs such as ostarine, ligandrol, RAD140, S-23, andarine and YK-11 are prohibited at all times.

Terms such as "healing peptide" or "recovery compound" do not indicate that a product is permitted in sport.
4. Fat-loss and endurance compounds
Some products marketed for fat burning or improved endurance contain metabolic modulators.
Important names include GW501516 (GW1516, Cardarine), SR9009, SR9011, AICAR, meldonium, trimetazidine, and MOTS-c.
GW501516 is often sold under the name Cardarine, even though it is not a SARM. SR9009 may be marketed as Stenabolic. Both are prohibited at all times as metabolic modulators.
Products containing these compounds may promise greater endurance, faster fat loss, improved metabolic efficiency, more training capacity, or a leaner appearance without muscle loss.

5. Diuretics and masking agents
Diuretics increase fluid loss and may be used for rapid weight reduction or to create a leaner physical appearance. They can also affect how other prohibited substances are detected.
Examples include furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, spironolactone, bumetanide, acetazolamide, indapamide, torasemide, chlortalidone, amiloride, metolazone, triamterene, probenecid, and desmopressin. These substances are prohibited at all times.

6. Higenamine and beta-2 agonists
Higenamine deserves special attention because it has appeared in supplements marketed for energy, weight management and pre-workout performance.
It may also appear under names such as norcoclaurine, Nandina domestica extract, Aconitum japonicum extract, or Tinospora crispa extract.
Higenamine is classified as a beta-2 agonist and is prohibited at all times.
Some prescribed asthma medicines are also beta-2 agonists. Certain inhaled substances may be permitted within specific dose limits, but athletes should never assume that every inhaler or respiratory medicine is automatically allowed. 7. Cannabinoids, pain medicines and other medication risks
Not every anti-doping risk comes from a bodybuilding or pre-workout supplement.
Cannabinoids: THC and other natural or synthetic cannabinoids are prohibited in competition. Glucocorticoids: glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone, prednisone, prednisolone, hydrocortisone and triamcinolone may be prohibited in competition depending on how they are administered. Why checking the label is not enough
Reading the ingredient panel is essential, but it cannot completely protect an athlete.
